Favorite marinade - a Tasty Thursday post
The grill ranks right up there as my favorite cooking apparatus. I love the way grilled food smells when it's cooking and love the way it looks when it's on the platter. I love how it keeps smells and heat out of the kitchen, and I particularly love how easy it is to clean.
Food that's been marinated, whether you're talking meat or tofu or veggies? That tastes even better.
This is a marinade inspired by on-hand ingredients, confidence, and a package of chicken in the fridge that needed to be eaten.
Confidence? What does that have to do with anything?
Confidence, in this case, is in knowing what flavors I like together. It's also in knowing general ratios, and things like the fact that soy sauce helps tenderize meat and that honey, when cooked, will glaze over like the best warm donut.
4-ingredient flavor bomb, coming your way.
Super Easy BEST EVER Marinade, for meat or tofu or veggies
1 part soy sauce (1/2 c works for up to 2 lbs chicken)
1 part citrus (orange juice or lemon or lime juice)
1 good dollop of honey
1-2 cloves garlic
Mix all marinade ingredients together in a bowl, stirring to dissolve honey.
Add in meat or tofu or veggies and let stand for 30 minutes or so
Grill to perfection!
