Homemade pizza sauce!
I don't think I had a piece of pizza in any form until I was about 13, and I remember people looking at me sideways when I admitted that. I make up for it now, though, in spades; Friday night pizza at our house is a riotous blend of kids, adults, remote control airplanes and teenage music pounding.
And pizza. Always pizza. At the heart of it is the dough, and the garlic oil - but let's not forget the sauce either!
Three ingredients. About 3 minutes of prep and 10 minutes of cooking time. Boom.
Ingredients and procedure:
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed (adjust amount to taste!)
- 1 28-oz can of diced tomatoes, drained and pulsed about 6 1-second pulses in the food processor
Heat oil in a saucepan. Add in garlic and cook over medium heat until aromatic (about 30 seconds). Stir in tomatoes. Simmer for about 15 minutes, or until you are ready to make your pizza! ENJOY!!!
